Model 19 What to do???

I recently purchased the same revolver (M19 2 1/2") for cheap. The bluing is in great shape but guess what, it'll be shot, and shot a lot. The difference between a "shooter" and a "collector" is a mere hundred dollars or so. Nothing to sweat. It's not like we're dealing with a $1000 difference.
Shoot it and shoot it again.

Your comment on the bluing is exactly why I sold my Python. I LOVE a blued gun...traditional and great looking. But...I had to handle the Python like it was crystal and didn't shoot it. I agree with other posts in that guns were meant to be shot and enjoyed. With what I got for the Python I financed most of 2 M-66 Smiths, one 2 1/2" and one 3" to go with my 4". They are in excellent condition, get carried and shot, and clean up to look no worse for the wear. I miss the Python but don't regret selling it 'cause all I did was polish it and admire how pretty it was. I get 10 times the enjoyment from my 66's then I would have ever gotten from the Python. If I had your 19 I would decide to either use it and enjoy it or get something I would use and enjoy. MHOFWIW

Ok guys I agree that guns are really just tools. They are meant to be shot not perserved in a museum like setting. Also have no plans to attempt to modify this gun so I will plan to either sell it outright or trade it toward a 3" model 66. Anyone know who might have one for sale or looking for a trade?

I have the same gun. There are barrels on GB that could be sent out and refurbished,Welcome to Accurate Plating & Weaponry, The Cogan Custom Shop. | APWCOGAN, these guys are awesome. But, last week in the back yard at 25yards I placed 12 rounds inside the 7" circle, standing, freehand. Do you need better than that? Like harrisons said, .5 isn't gonna make much of a differance. This is to nice of a gun not to shoot, If I wear this one out, I'll get another one.

Both guns will be similar in accuracy but the 3" should generate more muzzle velocity and energy...probably not the difference in daily living...just sayin'. Maybe someone here can say for sure.
