While looking at an online auction of Custer era items, I came across this page as part of the description of a Schofield revolver. The reason for its inclusion was the section at the bottom listing Schofield revolvers. The majority of the page, however, is apparently a list in serial number order of the disposition of Smith model 1917 revolvers to the Post Office, Treasury and other agencies, information of interest to many members of this Forum. Can anyone identify the source of this page and, if so, is it copywrited or available for download or purchase anywhere?

It’s a page from one of the Springfield Research Service books. Original copies are expensive if you can find them (AbeBooks, Amazon), but you can get them on EBay on a USB drive for a reasonable price. See below…..

Right-click it and choose to open it in a new tab (or window?). It is a .pdf file, and there's a + which you can click more than a few times to make it readable.

I use a tablet. I touch the image and it opens in a larger version. From that version, I can enlarge it as much as I want.

Two things jump out at me-
1> The 8th Inf Ill NG lost a LOT of guns!
2> There are serial numbers at the bottom of the last column that never existed for S&W Model 1917s!
