Model 20 box for 4”

Several years ago I bought a box for a 4” Model 20. At the time I didn’t have a Model 20, but I was on the hunt for one. Since that time I have never seen a Model 20, just pre- Models.

The serial number on the box is S211395. It is a pre-Bangor Punta Box.

Any idea what this box is worth?

Probably worth quite a bit to the owner of a Model 20, especially the owner of S211395. To the rest of us, not all that much. A blue box rather than the earlier gold ones?

Most of the period gold boxes seem to be selling in the $100-$200 range although there's one on an auction site for a 4 inch 38/44 HD without a model number listed, in nickel, which I suppose is relatively rare too, with a starting bid of $399. It it sells perhaps that might be a reasonable comp for yours. Good luck.
