I thought I would check the forum knowledge base before callinhg S&W next week.

I am using a Wolff standard power main spring in my M-22. The strain screw is fully tightened, but I have been getting light primer hits. I had noticed some light hits when using full moon clips before, but it is worse with the Wolff spring.

I have used this type of spring in Model 17's and M-25's with the original hammer mounted firing pin with no problems.

Does S&W offer a slightly longer firing pin for the new actions?

Thank you.

If I remember right the spring in my 325PD is slightly longer than the one in my 329PD. I doubt S&W makes a longer one. Longer ones are available, but tend to break if any dry firing is done with them.

I know of two factory firing pins, one in a 629, and the other in a 21, that broke dry firing. Lots of reps--

Thanks for the responses. I had missed the C&S pin in the Brownell's catalog. I will order one on Mondat.

I have had good luck with the C&S firing pins, particularly on the .45 ACP revos. It is about .015" longer than the standard pin.
