Model 24 cylinder release issue

My used Model 24 has a cylinder release issue that has developed. When you push the cylinder release button it stays locked up and won't open. I tried greasing the gear on the face of the cylinder and dry firing it but there's no improvement. I live in central Wisconsin so does anyone know of a good Smith in my area or do I need to send it to Smith and Wesson. If so where do I send it or contact them. Sorry for being needy. Thanks for your help.

Check the ejector rod to see if it's tight. If they unscrew slightly it is hard to open the cylinder. The rod has a left handed thread.

That was it. Tightened it to the left and it's working great. Thanks so much. What a great site.

Torque to 45-50in lbs. it's not much, don't over torque.
