Model 25-15

I took possession of this gun just a few days ago , already shot it and love it. Pretty accurate at 25 yards. I’m not that good of a shot anymore but they all went in a 5 inch circle, good enough for me. Now a question , I have noticed how thin the grips are on this gun compared to my 6 1/2 barreled model 29. Is this something they’re putting on all the newer N frames? I think I’d rather have the full size target grips that are on my 29. Question are their any aftermarket full size grips available? I’ve seen some used ones for sale but very expensive , as high as $600. I could almost buy another smith for that.

Welcome to the FORUM! I myself have a 25-15. The original (Altamont Stocks) came off in a hurry. I put some real, 70's S&W targets on it, and much better. Then I put Herrett Stocks on it. For me, even better yet. My last outing on steel plates (25 yds.) was quite satisfying. My 25, Herretts are shown on my 28 no dash. Both sets came off ebay at around $50 ea. if I remember right. S&W 25-15 45 Colt Blued Model

Congratulations on your new purchase of
that cool Model 25 45 Colt Revolver.

I looked at one in Loveland CO last week.
Price was some where around $900 I think.

I too immediately noticed the grips. They
felt different, slippery, and thinner. From
past experience they were not meant to be
used for any serious Range Session.

The Revolver itself was put together very well.
Bluing was deep and nice looking. Cylinder lock
up was tight. No canted Barrel. The Barrel
appeared to taper towards the Muzzle, thought
that was cool.

Wish S&W would make it in a 4"/5" model.

Didn't see anything cool like it at the Cheyenne
Gun Show that weekend.

Congratulations, on that Cool Revolver, enjoy shooting
it.

Keep an eye out in the classifieds in the misc F/S forum. There are quite a few sets of N frame targets that come up for sale. Recently a really nice set of shooter grades went for $60 shipped. You could also post in the wtb forum...

Keep your eyes peeled in the for sale section here, and ebay. They can be had in the $80 range. If you really want to treat yourself, get set of Culina Custom grips. John Culina goes by "Kurac" here on the forum. He markets product on facebook and ebay. Just search either by "Culina grips".

There's are Cocobolo $160, second hand from ebay, being modeled by a 25-7...

I just bought a set on eBay . They stated they are new. We’ll see since they’re coming from Thailand lol. From the pictures they look like what’s on my 29. Hopefully they are the same dimensions. Thanks again everyone for your suggestions and insight.

I just saw another pair in eagle grips site. They advertise what they call the heritage that looks to be a clone of the coke grips for $160. Anyone know anything about these? I take the width would be larger than what smith put on mine.
