Absent Comrade
Welcome to the best gun forum. Stick around. As you can see, there are some very knowledgeable and experienced folks here. I've owned guns all my long life, and I learn new stuff every day.
I sent for a letter yesterday and will advise the results. I've learned a lot in the short time I've been here. Great forum!
Why would you safe queen such a collectible and sought after carry gun? Use it for its intended purpose or sell it to someone that will!
Welcome aboard, and same to RyGuy as well
Good luck on the letter results. Please post pics of your revolver.
Back in the mid 80's I bought a 2 1/2" 25-2. Didn't think much about it, just liked the looks of it. I shot it some, and put it away until now and got curious about it. I always thought it was a factory gun, but that was back before the internet.
After spending a couple of days on this site, I'm 99% sure it's a Javino. Serial number is N 900624, and it has an unpinned barrel. It has Patchmayr
"Gripper" grips for Smith K frame. Everything about it meets the guidelines
Of a Javino. I'm going to spend the $75 for a letter, because in one post I read someone had a a Javino with a 900xxx serial number. I just want to know. Hope it works !
Amazing what we can learn on Great sites like this!

A Javino is even more rare than a Jovino
Just messin' with ya![]()
sshhh, don't let anyone know. I'm bidding on it.
My Jovino 25-2 was also part of the December 29, 1983 shipment with serial number N829240. In comparison with the OP's letter and mine, the 650 shipment were comprised of a large range of serial numbers. I was fortunate to acquire a like new example with original box.
Since then, I've also added a vintage John Jovino Inc gun patch and an additional Jovino 25-2 Box with the correct 2-1/2" barrel/item number stickers on the end label. It's hard enough to find one of the guns... try finding a box. Now I need another gun![]()
