I really love my 45colt mountain gun, but I have a question. Do they make a replacement front sight blade that looks like the half-moon sight blade on the model 21 and 22, or will a model 21 half-moon sight blade fit into the slot? I have a 22-4 Thunder Ranch, but the sight blade is much too thick for the opening in the adjustable sight on the rear of the mountain gun. I like the rounded blade look, but also wonder if the blade would be high enough to work with the adjustable rear sights.
I know it's an odd question, but I really like the 22-4, and wish they S&W would come out with a 45colt version. The mountain gun is close, but I really like the square butt and rounded barrel (without rib) on the 22-4, as well as the rounded frame top where the barrel meets it. If I could at least get the mountain gun to sport a half-moon sight blade, it would be part-way there. If necessary I guess I could modify a correct thickness piece of steel and use it as a sight blade, but just wondering if I was the only one who thought of this.
Any info would be greatly appreciated
