I have been looking for a model 25-5 for the last few years. I saw two at a gun show in north Texas about two years ago at what I thought were high prices. Both had the barrel length I want, 8 3/8 and I could kick myself for not buying one at the time. What are they going for now? I dont see them often on Gunbroker.

Saw a 6 inch nickel plated one at a gun show for 849.00! Looked very used and dirty. Not what I wanted so I didn't look any closer. Thanks for the input.

I bought a like new 25-5 with 4" bbl and stag grips on GB about two months ago for $730, plus shipping to my FFL. I had been watching it climb as people bid against each other, but I made my one bid and nobody bumped me up.

Check out Texas Trader (texasguntrader.com) - I have seen several there. Price is usually 650.00 (below shooter grade) to the stratosphere. I, too, want one. But at a fair price. What is fair? Well, it is sorta like pornography: I will know it when I see it. Good luck

1+ for your observations. TGT is a good source, but as it grows in popularity, gun prices there are going through the roof, as well.

You can't tell a guy, what his property is worth. Only the market can do that. The problem for us as buyers, is two fold:

1. Many of the guns we want (3" & 4" big bore N frames for example), are internet driven "trendy". Remember the "Pre-Ban AR15" $$ madness? Prices dropped like a rock when the ban ended, & a lot of previously obsession driven buyers, ended up $2000 - $3000 underwater on their "pre-ban" guns.

2. When we shop for guns online, we are dealing w/ many sellers that recognize the "trendy" factor, see their sales medium (internet), as able to reach gazillions of totally "trendy gun obsessed" potential buyers, & price their guns accordingly.

Personally, I'm beginning to see my local gun shop owner, as a much more valuble asset - then internet sellers. He likes to make $50 - $100 on a gun, but that's a heck of a lot better then what I've been seeing online lately.

Just my $0.02
