Model 25-5 ?

I've been looking for a 25-5, were there any made with recessed cylanders? I've looked at a couple that had pinned barrels, made in 79-80, but no recessed cyl ! Also, what would the correct presentation case for 1 of these?

Recessed cylinders were only on rimfires and magnums.

Bowen will recess the cylinders if you want. I once saw a custom 25-5 for sale on this forum that had that done. That'd be great!

You would need a replacement cylinder to recess the chambers for the cartridge rims on a Model 25-5, such as rechambering a Model 29, 57 or 58 cylinder. The recessed cylinders are "longer" on the rear end.

Yes. When the counterbored charge holes were eliminated on the magnum-chambered revolvers, the cylinder was shortened a corresponding amount. On the .44 N frames, the resulting dimension was 1.69"; on the .357 N frames, it was 1.57"; and on the .41 N frames, it was 1.67". On the .357 K frame, it was 1.62" (although the latter is irrelevant to this discussion).

Pinned but not recessed. They are neat!
