Does anyone know how many of these were produced? I bought one today from a friend of mine[see pics]. It's a beautiful Smith, I just wish they had made it in .44special and .45ACP. Although it does have a slight 'turn ring', it's never been fired.

The Model 25 firearm that you have pictured is S&W product code 100924. 2000 were slated to be produced beginning with the -7 engineering revision in 1989. Production continued with the -9 engineering revision through much of 1990. Exact figures built during each individual engineering revision are not known.

I appreciate the help. I've had a heck of a time finding info on this particular model. Supica's book doesn't say a whole lot about it.-Steve

You will enjoy that gun. I am a .45 Colt fan, so I am happy with the chambering.

I have one of these revolvers, and they are lazer beams!! There are a lot of die hard fans of them here on the forum, and for a good reason. These guns have the proper throat/barrel bore relationship that contributes to their accuracy. The -9 version has the elongated cylinder stop notches. In other words, all of the endurance upgrades, while -7's have some of them.

Here is mine-

Nice stocks you have on yours. I've had dreams of making one of these a 'convertible', using a .45acp stainless cylinder. I bought a reloader this summer just for loading .45LCs and .44 specials.

25-7's

My 25-7 is one of my "go to" wheelguns during our deer and elk season. One of THE most accurate modern Smiths I own, and with 265 gr LBT's at 1000 fps enough for my hunting needs. These five inch guns are IMHO the perfect balance for an N frame.

Shoot it and I doubt your going to wish for any other caliber.

FN in MT

I do like a 5"er also. I'm going deer hunting this year with a S&W. I was going to take the Model 29, but now you've got me interested in the .45LC possibilities.

I have some loads that will push a 265 cast swc to around 1,200 FPS, but 1,000 FPS is good enough for most situations. That'll do anything that needs doing in the lower 48. Bigger hole than the .44, more weight, and in and out performance is all that you can ask from any caliber.

You will really enjoy that gun. My stocks were made by forum member Kurac. He sells a lot of them here in the classifieds. They fit great, and once you get used to them (if your used to the Hogues on yours, or something similar) they feel great too. Mine are Cocobolo, but he makes them in Maple, Walnut, and maybe some other woods too.

After seeing the wood stocks on yours I got in my safe and pulled out a set on 'N' frame targets with a lot of grain. The do look sharp on the 25.

I'll take some tomorrow and post them. I have to get up at 5am, so I'm going to hit the hay and dream about my new girl...............................I mean Model 25.

It's a lot of gun in a great caliber.

3 and counting ,, the 25-7 . A 25-5 4" and a 625-7 6.5" power port.

Nice collection Allen-frame!

The combats look good on your -7. I might even stick mine onto my -7, just to see how it looks, but I really like them on my .44. They help soak up the recoil, since I do shoot magnum loads in my magnums at least half the time.

Here some pics of mine with some Targets and Ajax ivories.
