so since i don't have a model 25 in 45acp and/or a model 25 in 45colt in front of me - can anybody tell me the difference(s) in the barrels?

- does the forcing cone extend further back into the window on the acp v the colt?
- are they the same actual groove/land diameters?

just curious - thinkin' "project.."

The ACP cylinders are shorter and consequently the barrel shank extends further into the cylinder opening in the frame. I've always read and been told the Model 25 (and it's 1955 predecessor) were rifled for Ball ammo and thus have the shallow grooves of the 1911. I would suspect the 45 Colt versions (25-5s) would have more standard rifling, like 44 Specials/Magnums or 357 Magnums.
