Model 27-2

At my LGS. 6 in barrel. Nickel finish, wooden grips. Very clean but has been shot. Has black rings around the cylinder. Some minor play in the cylinder when open. Forward and back just a hair. Im not as experienced as most here when it comes to revolvers but it looks to be about 90% maybe 85%.

With that long barrel its so impractical but SOOOO cool and beautiful!

Do they handle the 125gr 357 mags or +P
They are asking $650. Is that too much?

I have the 8 /38" barrel 27-2.
They handle every .357 load I have thrown at it.
The N-frame is a workhouse that is the most durable frame the .357 is offered in.
I was skeptical about getting the long barrel but when I out-shoot my buddy's glock on a regular basis, I know I made the right choice.
If there aren't any flaws with the finish, the action, or the play in your cylinder I would say 650 isn't bad.

I would say $650 is an Ok price for a nickel 27-2 with 6 inch barrel and the 6 inch is usually the cheapest barrel length. Some people claim the 8 3/8 inch barrel is the cheapest but I haven't seen that because there were a lot less 8 3/8 inch barreled 27-2's made then the 6 inch. Also most people trying to build a collection of 27-2's need an 8 3/8 inch to complete the set.

Im trying to find a place for it in my firearm "needs". I try not to buy for the sake of buying or just for the "COOL" factor. That $650 can go to a lot of other things...more ammo! I gotta admit it is a very nice looking gun.

Guns were made to be shot, so the black rings tells you it has been fired and the owner forgot to clean the front of the cylinder. I seldom clean the front of cylinders. Play in the cylinder when open is perfectly normal. If you have 38 or 357 ammo laying around, then that would be another good reason to buy it.

I know we are usually enablers on this kind of thing but a little reality does not hurt, except maybe feelings. My bud just bought a 6" Nickeled 28-2 in similiar sounding condition at a gun show in South Georgia a couple of months back for $500 private sale from a knowledgable seller. I know because I was standing next to him buying a Blued 8 3/8" 28-2 from the same seller for the same amount of money.

I'm not a big fan of nickel but in my opinion the gun is worth it.
My 27 is the most accurate revolver in my collection and I spent more then 650 without regretting it yet.
