Model 27 round butt?

Did S&W ever make a pinned & recessed Model 27 with a round butt? A dealer at a gun show had one today....but it had a rubber grip (possibly a Pachmayr) covering the grip frame, so I couldn't see if it was a modification. I think this was a 4" 27-2, if my memory is correct. Thanks.

Pinned and recessed M27s were discontinued in 1982 or there abouts.

It was probably roundbutted by an individual. I did several N frames RBs in the early '80s. The RBs fit my hand better.

When S&W introduced the 3 inch Model 24-3 in 1984, it was billed as the first production N frame with a round butt. There may have been a few 'one-off's' or special orders for special people (Doc44's sorta Model 58 in .44 Magnum, for example) but never any kind of cataloged item.
