No offense intended buy to keep us all honest, there is no such thing as an "S frame". It is an N-frame with an "S" prefix serial number. You might get a better answer in the 1896-1961 Forum.

There was a recent thread on this .The older N frames serial numbers start with an S .Some people place more value on what they call an S frame gun,which is just an N frame with a serial no starting in S.Sorry i guess I dont know how to do a search properly.I could not find it,however the post was no more than a few days ago.The 'S 'frame guns where made from 1954 to 1970

The "S" serial number prefix on N-frames started in 1946, not 1954.
