Model 28-2 question

What is this sharp protrusion on the end of the ejector locking bolt? I've recently bought this gun and am inspecting it closely and am curious what this might be. It's dead center in the end of the locking bolt mechanism and sharp. Please pardon my ignorance.

My 28 does not have that protrusion. I have no theory.

My 1978 28-2 doesn’t have that and the locking pin is recessed in the shroud. Looks like a manufacturing flaw and it wasn’t assembled properly.

RELAX. It's just the front end of the front locking bolt. That little tit means nothing. Should have been rounded off at the factory. File it off or forget it. Has No effect on your gun.

it's just a part that didn't get finished when they parted it off on the lathe. As stated above, file it off. It's not supposed to be there.
