Model 28 trigger swap

I would like to replace the standard trigger in my model 28 with a wide target trigger. I'm familiar with the disassembly/reassembly of the N frame revolvers.

Once acquired, is the target trigger a "drop in" deal, or will it need fitting or gunsmith work?

Also, if any of you have a wide target trigger for sale, please let me know. I'm seeking one. Thanks.

Years back I swapped in the "Ranger trigger"; it’s wider than the skinny thing but narrower and more smooth and rounded than the full blown target trigger. I did have to do some filling & stoning to get it to work right!

FWIW not sure if the term Ranger trigger holds now but that was its nickname back in the 70s!

I swaped mine out for a .400 smooth target trigger.Love it!!

Tough call on swap without doing some tuning. Put in the trigger without the hammer and see how it rotates, be sure it does not bind, etc. Then install the hammer and see if the sear acts right with the new trigger. May or may not... if not, you may see where some sear work needs to be done.

+1 on the "ranger" trigger. I have installed them in several of my K&N guns.
Chances are your trigger swap would be a drop-in.
