Model 28

$600 is a good price around here for a 4" HP in the condition pictured. With lnib examples already at $1k and up, I think the 28-2 in question is a buy. You can shoot it, take care of it, and it will still hold value down the road.

I think that's a solid buy. Even if it is overpriced (in some people's minds) by a little bit, why quibble over ~$50. You found what you are looking for and you don't have to waste time in the future trying to find another.

You will love it.

shot my 28 today, not a good start ,1st 6 rds. ok after that trigger was hard to pull , and tnen sometimes cylinder would not turn & hammer would only come back 1/2 way any idea might send it back to S&W

It MAY be that it needs a good cleaning inside. Some old gunk could be what is causing the problem. Worth a try! Bob

I would check these before returning the gun the S&W or enlisting the aid of a gunsmith:

1) clean thoroughly under the ejector star. Small amounts of unburnt powder can tie things up wonderfully

2) make sure the ejector rod is tight

3) remove the grips, flush the internals with a good aerosol gun cleaner and blow dry with compressed air.

Dried oil inside. Make sure it's unloaded, Remove the side plate and disassemble. Plenty instructions on you tube.

Nice. From your friendly La Enablers Cosa Nostra (That Enablers Thing Of Ours)

up date went back to the range yesterday, had the same problem as before. I went back to the range today had no problem all I did was use different ammo. I was using GECO , I DIDN'T think I would have trouble with a revolver, today I used AMERICAN EAGLE & FEDERAL CHAMPION what a difference

Did you ever take the side plate off and give it a good cleaning? I can't imagine the ammo making a difference.

yes i took off the sideplate cleaned with ballistol and brush. i tried GECO AMMO twice then tried FEDERAL CHAMPION, AMERICAN EAGLE & it was fine
