Model 29-2, 5-inch Barrel

Doc44 - your photo work is as impressive as your weapon. I'm embarrassed by my pics. I'm going to have to do better if everyone here rises to your standard.

OK, Bill. I think the 1950 .44SPL 5" Target is the most beautiful gun S&W, or anyone else, ever made. I think you knew someone would say that.Dan

That is one beautiful gun I carry a model 29-3 appendix carry every day in a 6 inch barrel the 5 inch would be absolutely perfect.

Shipped in March 1963 to H. H. Harris in Chicago, IL. The stocks are made of red heart and are by Keith Brown. Five-inch N-frames have always been my favorite.

For me, "the day the music died"* was not when Buddy Holly crashed, but when Herbie Harris died. He certainly used to order some good stuff, and I just have never understood why S&W did not standardize some of his better ideas, such as 5 inch 29s and 5 inch K38s. I suppose that is part of the mystique of the H.H. Harris guns! Beautiful revolver!

Some years back, I recall a posting about this revolver or another 5" M29. I "hated" you then, and I still do.

Doc a $100.00 bucks, & my new pickup truck, & My Baseball card collection for that gun.? HA HA Nice looking gun Doc.

Bill thats my dream revolver, congratulations. Gopher shooters Supply was in Faribault Minnesota and they ordered a bunch from Smith and Wesson. I have a lettered Model 57 5 5/8" barrel that happened to come from them and is actually one of my favorites and from my home town to boot.
