Model 29-2 Date of Manufacture Needed

Can anyone show me a link or a photo from the book of the serial number ranges for 1970, 71, 72 ? I want to buy a model 29 and have C&R FFL and refuse to be fingerprinted like a criminal and do 5 hours of training by my socialist state to exercise an uninfringable right for post C&R arms. I need the photo to prove to FFLs of its qualification. And yes, I am planning to move to a free state soon for retirement. Thanks!

The list in the book is not precise enough to ID the dates you seek. Maybe somebody knows.

The list you seek does not exist as S&W did not build and ship revolvers in precise serial number order. Any 29-2 with a serial number beginning with the letter S will most likely be C&R, but if proof is needed, you need a shipping date from the factory records.

You could call S&W Customer Service with the serial number and ask them when it shipped from the factory. You might be lucky enough to find a 29-2 with a letter of authenticity that lists the shipping date and location.
