Model 29-2 Presentation Box

I have a Model 29-2 Presentation Box from 1980 that has deteriorated over the years. The coating on the inlay plastic has turned to dust. The only tool I have is the screw driver and don't remember what else should be there. The box needs has some scuffs but is pretty good. I gave this gun to my father for father's day 1981. He passed a few years ago. The gun is in great condition and has only been fired six times when I first gave it to him.

There should be cotton swab and an aluminum cleaning rod with a copper bristled brush attached. If you are interested in having the inserts in your case redone, contact Joe Cebull (jcelect on this Forum).

I too have a model 29-2 with an 8-3/8" barrel but NO papers, tools or presentation case. Ditto for my model 27-2 - Also the 8-3/8" barrel. Can I secure a complete presentation case for each?

Dougaz...S&W used several types of mahogany presentation case from the early 1960s to the mid-1980s. You probably can find a presentation case for your two Magnums, but the correct one will depend on how old they are (when they were shipped).

Presentation cases

As mentioned by Doc44 your dash 2 guns could have been shipped with any one of 4 different type liners! The problem you will have is the simple fact that NONE of these liners withstood the test of time! If you will email me I can help with an approx. ship date to determine which type of liners you are looking for and I might(????) have one on the shelf, for sale, that has been refurbished!

I have a letter request on 4 S&W's which include both revolvers noted. I bought the 27-2 (used) back in 1978'ish and the 29-2 right after that and I'm excited to gain as much information as I can.
