Model 29-2

Hello all, I have a question for you all. I just purchased a S&W Model 29-2 in Nickel with a 8 3/8'' barrel. I have been trying to buy this from a friend for many years and he finally decided to sell it to me. Does anyone have any idea what it is worth? It came with the wooden box and all the original paperwork. The gun is in great shape. He said he bought it brand new in 1980. I paid $700.00 for it. Did i pay to much for it, or was it a decent price?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the M29.
I think you did fine at $700. The long barrel probably is not as desirable as the shorter ones but you don't see a lot of them.

I would say the $700 is a fair price for both parties considering the box and papers were included.
