model 29-2

Way to high in my opinion also. Especially with no box, papers and etc. I'm thinking in the 600-700 range. Even that may be a little high! I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong.

I think madmikeb is correct on the value. If you want a collectable, get a NIB example and keep it that way. If you want a nice shooter, this would be a good gun if the money were less.

Without all the goodies it's over priced and would be a great shooter for $600 to$700 in my opinion depending on where you live and demand in your area. The 6 inch is actually slightly rarer in the 29-2 but because of Dirty Harry every one wants a 6.5 inch.

Thanks guys just wondering my local gun shop has one in about 95% condition with the box but no tools or papers for $1150 which I thought was way to high but though I might be missing something

Its subjective. Closed AGB auctions of the guns that SOLD with several bids is VERY good guide to realistic AUCTION pricing.

I have been reading many threads here about value of different guns and started some threads on the subject myself.

Its how much do You want the gun.

I have been looking for nice four inch 686-4 that I can just take out and shoot.

Found one in mint cond w/o box in my LGS for 650.00 OTD.

I think I did VERY well.

Someone I know told me that they bought the same gun for 400.00 from someone who needed rent money.

Does that mean I overpaid? NO.

I dont see many clean and tight 6.5 inchers 29-2's for sale.

Find one You like and enjoy it.

I like mine a lot.
