Beautiful Revolver and probably my top 3 favorite models! I believe those stocks are aftermarket and probably came with OEM Combats but if not "someone" will come along and Kindly correct me!
Either way, beautiful gun and if you want the correct and suspected OEM grips there are plenty available, just you are going to have to pay a bit more than you thought for them. I'm stoked for you because I remember when I came home with my first M29-3 3" Revolver, and probably my favorite gun to this day!
Shameless pic of mine but you should certainly post more of your new baby!
You will/should find that your new Revo loves Bulk S&B 240grain JSP's, CCI Blazer 240gr, & PMC TCSP's in 240grainammo. For the more precise and harder hitting .44Mag pills Federal Fusion bonded soft point 240's & Hornady 225 grain "LeverEvolution" FTX ammo perform the very best even though the latter was made/intended for lever action rifles but performs flawlessly and extremely accurately in 3" barreled Smith 80's Revolvers... at least it does both of mine and a couple friends examples of M29'a and M629-3's... And don't be afraid to feed her a diet of good .44Special ammo as well of the 200, 210, and 240 grain flavor as well in Federal, Blazer, PMC, and Underwood (Boutique) manufactured ammo as well!
My M29-3 serial prefix is "ALA" OP and was manufactured in early of 85'... I'm betting yours is an early to mid 86' manufactured model but someone with the Smith book will verify!
***And most importantly OP, more pics man!***
