It seems Lew Horton gets the headlines. Everyone stated that only 5000 , super rare . Ok Lew is the one that said make me a round butt 3 inch model 29 with combat grips. But in reality there are quite a bit more 29-3 3 inch round butt revolvers out there. In October 1985 Interstate Arms Warehouse of Northridge California ordered a dozen of them . Is 1 of 12 more rare than a Lew Horton or just what they describe as an overrun?
Computers were just coming into play back then and the Smith and Wesson shipping department weren't the best at record keeping . Some of these 29-3 revolvers have a shipping date assigned to them , shipped to "unknown ".
If anyone has any knowledge of interstate Arms out of Los Angeles let me know1757167945241.webp

Good looking 29! Don't know how it would be for extended range sessions with heavy loads. I had a 29-2, 4" that was Magnaported when I bought it. Was pretty tame recoil wise. Bob

Which product code is on the box? I have a Lew Horton 3" 29-3 purchased here in LA. A phone call to customer service, yielded a product code of 101224. From 1985.
They made alot of those snubs.

Yes , same code do you remember where you got it? Those grips are outstanding! I got a some one time from Thailand, they were rough but some careful sanding and many coats of polyurethane they became a masterpiece. I sold them with the 19 they were on. Beautiful grain on the wood

I picked mine up at a local Turner's outdoorsman for $800. It came with Pachs marked " k frame" on the inside. I switched them out for some Culina English walnut marble cakes.

This one belongs to my son's boss (owner of a local gun store). I've been trying unsuccessfully to buy this LH 29-3 from him, as well as his 3" 686 CS-1. Hoping I can eventually wear him down! It has the LH Product Code, too.
