This gun has very few rounds fired, less than 25 however, just noticed a timing issue
if i pull hammer back to single action normal fashion no issue. If i pull hammer back slow i can rotate the cylinder a very small
amount to lockup….its about 1/64 inch of travel.
My question is….would a slightly longer hand solve this? Where to purchase?

thanks
Jack

It does sound like the hand is either worn or maybe was never correctly fitted. A wider hand is likely the fix. If you lack the tools or knowledge of how to work on S&W revolvers, either contact S&W or locate a qualified gunsmith who can repair your Model 29-3.

What happens when you pull the hammer back fast? Even if the revolver is perfectly timed, it can be cocked slowly enough that it won't quite lock up, so what you are describing is very possibly - in fact likely - normal.

ok…that is a big help
when i pull the hammer back normal sort of fast it does lock up…only when pulling back slow
just seems to be to close to hammer falling
in comparison, tried this on a couple of Rugers….lockup is much sooner before hammer fall
thanks again
