Looking for info on this revolver as to date and number made. / Also may be a Lew Horton ? / Contacted LH and they say no but S&W tells me that 200 hundred produced in 1985 and of those 85 for LH. / Product # 101224 and Special Order # 5329. Any and all info would be great.

Thanks

The SCSW is a bit confusing. It says 5000 were made 1984-85 and were Lew Horton exclusives. According to Earl Minot all of those apparently weren't. :(

Last year I spotted 4 3" 29-3 advertized as being from LH but when I sent the serial numbers to Earl at LH he said none of them were from LH.

On one occasion he said that near the end of LH runs the remaining undelivered guns on orders were cancelled due to declining sales so S&W sold them and overruns to other distributors.

Judging just by the number I saw offered last year without looking very hard I'd say a lot more than 200 3" 29-3 are out there.

Prices ranged from $650 for well used gun alone to $1200+ for nice ones with the original box.

There's probably more 3" LH 629-1 looking for new homes than 3" 29-3

Thanks for the Info. May change the grips as I don't like the fit.

You need to change the grips, those look like they're made for a k/l frame. But DON'T trash them! The wood looks gorgeous and they're worth a chunk. Take a look at what John Culina (Kurac) has to offer. They fit better in the hand and use wood that'll knock your socks off!

They usually go anywhere from $175 to $250 on Ebay.
Edit: just checked Ebay....Just a wee bit higher.
