Model 29-3

I have a model 29 -3 silhouette thinking about changing the barrel to a 6 inch non pinned thoughts sorry new to this don’t know how to change title 29-3 is correct

You might be better off to sell it and buy what you want. Changing barrels on the -3 guns can be risky.

Yea I found the barrel but you might be right M29 talk to one gunsmith entails quite a bit of work

If your Silhouette model is original and in nice shape I’d be surprised if you couldn’t get a fair price for it. 6-inch guns are much more common.

Wise choice! I have one also. Get it to the range once in a while. Always puts a smile on my face. It's a legitimate 100-yard revolver.

I agree. Good decision. I’d hang onto it and buy another gun with whatever barrel I wanted. Thanks for the picture.

Interesting. I had to remove the barrel on my 29-3. And had no problems.
It was on pretty tight tho.

Again. Whatever advice from a reputable gunsmith- i would listen to his advice. I'm just a bubba .

It won’t work it’s shows 100% done then the fail message to large fail to attach

The 29-3 silhouette is a fine gun, I had 2 of them and they are good shooters.
Keep it or sell it, but leave it as is, and buy what you're hankerin' for instead

Having seen my gunsmith working on a S&W rebarrel job, it can go from a perfect match with little fitting.
Or it can be a huge job needing to machine back the whole shoulder/ejector rod cover (for clearance), threading back the new barrel, re-cutting the forcing cone, resetting cylnder gap. Kinda of a gamble.
He said it’d be easier to mount a custom barrel.
