I very recently acquired a beautiful Model 29 with the 10 5/8" barrel. The revolver is in 98% condition.

There were not instructions included (it came with original box and papers) on the adjustment of the front sight. I do not want to shoot it, or "fiddle" with it without understanding how it is supposed to be adjusted.

Detailed help would be appreciated. :)

I can be reached at [email protected]

One other question for those who have shot the same piece.
I want to replace the grips, possibly with Hogues, or even with S&W grips without checkering. Any suggestions on finger grooves, +/-. ;)

Thanks

This question went thru the forum less than a month ago.

Here's a reference that I found - its for the 686 but it should be the same for the 29.

I picked up a 29-3 silhouette a couple years ago in 98% condition too. The first thing I did is what I do with all my new Smiths, install a set of smooth exotic Hogues with fingergrooves. They seem to fit my hand like they were made for them!
