I just recently picked up a Model 29-10.

After my first round at the range (remind me to never buy cowboy action loads ever again), I think I want to change out the stocks.

Something just doesn't feel right about the N frame and the standard stocks - my hand seems to want to ride up pretty high. Maybe a Hogue with finger grooves might help me get a better hold on it?

What have you guys tried and liked? Pics please!

Well, for actual shooting, the rubber Hogues are hard to beat and along with my preference, Pachmayr Presentations, they are way more comfortable than any wood grip to me. This also includes the beautiful S&W combat grips I have on a few revolvers.

For showing, the wood grips. For shooting, I am partial to my Pachmayr Presentations. The Hogue rubber grips are also more comfortable to me.

OP-these are Grashorn's on my 629, they'd probably look even nicer on a blued 29. Not that much fun to shoot with though; on range days that revolver is wearing Pachmayr Presentations. I'm one of those people that can't stand finger grooves, but grip adapters fit fine, go figure????

MDL 29's & 629's

This 629 no dash has been with me for some time - Stocks seem to have a bit of 'coke' feel to them, but of course they are not-- really time for me to let this old girl go to a good home but there is little interest, or none for that matter.

1965 Model 29-2 wearing Cokes of course :)

1956 44 MAGNUM. These early Cokes are just a bit smaller than the later Cokes. Not by much, but it's noticeable when put one down and pick the other.

recoil taming grips for the 29 series

If you're not looking for a pretty face, these Crimson Trace Hog Hunter grips turned the 329PD with 300-grain hardcast bear loads from a wrist breaker to tolerable.
