Welcome to the Forum Apache

Maybe post some pictures here first and see what interest you get?

We could also give you an idea of what your Gun is worth.

Is it a SA or a DA?

Some good photos will tell us if the Gun is original or meddled with which is of course everything to the Collector.

Even if its what we call a 'Shooter' grade; there is very likely someone here who will be interested.

Some basic info like the Serial No. and exact Model will tell us what you have there. Pictures are sometimes worth a thousand words.

"I'll take it!". There. Now, wasn't that easy? Just kidding. I think you might need a certain amount of posts before selling something here but not sure. You came to the right place, though. You'll get honest appraisals by people without agendas. Just wanting to help you out. Unlike walking around a gunshow with it asking questions. can't wait to see it.

Hi everyone,
Someone has expressed an interest, if it is still available I will post a link to photobucket or send the large lot via Google Drive.
Thanks!
Lisa (ApacheBronco)
It is a DA (New American)

I think it may be time for the Photobucket link....

There is a New Model No. 3 in 44/40, but it is a single action.
There is a Double Action No. 3, but it is called a Frontier. (and usually not called a "No. 3")
There is a New Century in 44/40 but it is a 1st Model Triplelock and is not an antique.

Need to see what we are looking at....

That's almost too nice...;)
I have the same gun only mine is nowhere near as nice, but it does have history. It belonged to a homesteader on the Montana/Dakota territory border who had ordered it from Monkey Wards in Chicago in 1900. Later belonged to his son who was a SP/American War vet.

I find the target front sight with the regular rear sight interesting.

Can't wait to see what others think of as to value....

Yes, the sights are the reason we got a letter on it (forgot to take a pic of that), yours has a great story-I wish these old guns could talk! The letter did not talk about the sights, my guess is that it was short of matching parts. The letter was pretty disappointing.

I think it is photo 19. The screw in the sideplate appears in a depression, and this suggests buffing and a refinish, albeit a very good one. Thoughts?

I reckon this one might be original.
The unworn Stocks, the front of the Cylinder, The Screws, Edges, Lettering and the look of the Nickel itself.....if it's a Refinish; it's a damn good one.

I hope we see it in the Forum Classifieds; somebody will want that.

Other than the "depression" of the sideplate screw, this one looks good. It may just be a photographic optical illusion.

It may just be a photographic optical illusion.
I'm leaning this way, but would want an in-person look before I paid a premium for it.
Some of the pics show the "buffing depression" you mention and others don't. (Although the ones that don't do appear to have had a lot of post processing done.......)

That being said, I'm not in the market as I already have a fairly decent Frontier DA....;):D

To rich for my blood but it is extremely nice.

If you would give your location maybe one of the real experts around here lives close and could do a hands on examination. Then, put you on to some kind of true value. Then if you listed it here buyers would have some assurance that it is all correct.

Like I said to high of price range for me, but, I would like to see someone from here end up with it, knowing it would be appreciated and well cared for.
