Spotted a New Model 3 target at a gun store today, looked about 90 % or better priced at $5250. Is it worth that?

Depends on the caliber and to whom the gun was shipped. For $5,250 it should be in, at least, a very rare caliber like .320 Rifle or.45 Schofield and shipped to Walter Winans! Ed.

Mike, Michael Speers, S&WCA Admin. Assistant., has my article in hand for a future S&WCA Journal issue. The gun is two serial numbers away from a known NM#3 Target, in .44 cal.., ordered by Winans and has the same British proofs, however records at the Bisley Revolver Range in North London did not record the serial number of the NM#3 Target, in .45 Schofield caliber,used By Walter Winans to fire the "World Record target." Ed.

It is in .44 Russian and I have no idea who it belonged to. I am not interested in purchasing it considering Eds response. Thank you Ed.
