That 1980-1982 transitional phase contains both pinned and not pinned. In 1980 they seem to be all pinned. By 1982 the pin was about gone. I bought a lot of new Smiths during that period. They came both ways. I guess you have to consider that in late 1982 you might have bought a gun that was manufactured earlier but didn't ship to your dealer until much later (old inventory). This could result in a gun bought new from the factory (or distributor) for Christmas 1982 that was still pinned. You have a neat little gun.
