Model 31 hammer

It is a standard J frame hammer, as would fit a model 36 J frame .38. Numrich or other parts suppliers should have one but it may not drop in without minor fitting.

It depends on the vintage of your .32. We'll need a serial 3 or partial #.
the two main issues are:

1. pre or post war gun to match the hammer safety block? and

2. in post war models, leaf or coil mainspring?

You have lot's of potential hammers that interchange with yours:

I and J frame .32s, 38 S&Ws and .38 S&W Special

Numeric is the easiest way to get one if they have it, once we know which vintage you need.

In that case, any post model 1960 j frame hammer, any caliber (except rim fire of course) up to the mid 1980's MIM HAMMERS with frame mounted firing pins, will work.

Vendors on Gun Broker frequently list "Parts Kits" derived from the salvage of parts from guns to be destroyed. Often the whole kit sells for about what it would cost to get one or two parts from Numrich, etc.

Years ago, I bought two J frame hammers on Gunbroker. They had lots of parts. I recall selecting one and then continuing to look and found one with nicer case hardening.
