I have a revolver that I can not find in S&W standard catalog 3rd ed or Blue Book of gun values. Plenty of 317 Airlite but NOT the 317 airlite Ti. blk grips, LTG4xxx AirliteTi on right side of sideplate just above trigger. hollow trigger. Would like to know when made (99 I think) how many before discontinued, and of course value. Thanks! [email protected]

You made me take a second look at my 317, # LGT3xxx. It does not have "Ti" on the sideplate.
My 317 has an aluminum cylinder. I cannot fathom why Smith would make one with a titanium cylinder because it would be heavier. Mayby you have a mismarked frame-can you post some pictures???

Well I had to dig mine out and look also. No Ti just "AirLite" on the side plate. Also a LGT3XXX no lock model 317 with a 2" barrel. You may have a very valuable Smith there.

Yeah, I agree that you must have a mismarked 317 or a real collector's item.
I bought my 317 in 1998 and like everyone here, there's no Ti marked on it anywhere. Unless it was some special requested run, why would they even make a .22 revolver with ti parts when aluminum is plenty strong enough for .22 cal.?
