I have a model 317 (3" barrel), and the cylinder will not open. The release switch moves in just like it should, the hammer cocks and the cylinder revolves perfectly. I can't see any problems with the revolver other than this, but you can't load a cylinder that won't open.

Any ideas on cause or fix?

Thanks!

A common cause of this is the ejector rod unscrewing and moving forward. If you can try to tighten it while still closed you should be able to open it. However keep in mind the rod is reverse threaded. To loosen it turns RIGHT, to tighten left.

Use a drill chuck on the ejector rod & put spent brass in the cylinders holes & just snug it up, do not over tighten as the threads are very fine..
