A few weeks ago I posted about the trigger pull on my 317s. My wife had problems with the heavy double action pull. I got a lot of good comments. Thanks guys. I set to work lightening the pull with a reduced power mainspring from Wolff, a reduced power rebound spring and an extra-length firing pin from Brownells. I also got out my Arkansas stones and wee little files and de-burred and polished contact areas on frame and action parts.

Here's what I found: XL firing pin a must for positive ignition; 8lb hammer spring too light (sure made a sweet pull!) 9lb mainspring positive ignition every time; I used a 13lb trigger rebound spring, wouldn't go lighter since this is an aluminum frame pistol and with the 22 ammo it gets crudded up and a bit sticky after 50-60-rds. YMMV, could go to a 14lb spring. Some Rem oil or CLP and good to go.

These are not go-to-range-burn-200rds-a-week plinkers. The way both pistols are set up will give positive ignition of quality ammo for wife's home defense. She tried them and feels good with them so they are cleaned and at the ready for use against any unwanted intruders.

She uses minute of pie plate at seven yards, can put all eight rounds on it in 3-4 seconds. Yikes, I wouldn't want her mad at me!
