Love my Thunder ranch 325.. shoots great, light enough to carry if I choose.

ALTHOUGH I have never owned one, I have/do own a 327 M&P R8 and a 329PD. "PRETTY MUCH" the same thing kinda. What I like about them is the light weight, you don't even know they are on you. What makes the 325 better is the reload speed, I think a man can reload a 325 faster than the 327 M&PR8.

I have a 325TR and it is a nice revolver. It functions 100% as opposed to my 625JM which probably needs a longer firing pin. Also the cylinder holes are chamfered from the factory which really speeds up reloads.
Recoil isn't bad at all with WWB 230 grain ball. Those big rubber grips must help. I haven't run HP's in it yet.
The ONLY criticism would be the big rubber grips might get in the way on the loading side. I will probably take a dremel to them and remove a millimeter or two for better clearance.

I picked up a 325PD 2" a few years back and basically made a pre-Nightguard out of it.
Ran it in our local pistol league for a while, then I got a 625PC so I wouldn't beat it up so much. It surprisingly accurate with a Trijicon J frame front sight and a Cylinder&Slide extreme duty fixed rear.

If you are like Me, and would carry an N frame S&W every day, I did so for several years, and still do a fair amount...
I think your choice would be perfect.
I ONLY carry 2 guns as a Primary, either a 1911 in 45 ACP, or a S&W N frame in 44 Mag, or 45 ACP...
I use have used Milt Sparks IWB holster to carry a 4" S&W Mod 29 and a 44 Mag Mountain Revolver for many many years.
I have a Galco IWB holster for a 6 1/2" N frame S&W that I use a lot if I am on a road trip and plan on carrying the 6 1/2' S&W when I am in the field.
I also carry my 1911's in an IWB Milt Sparks ir GWM Davis Holster.
I always buy my pants 2" bigger in the waist.
When I am fitted for a suit, I am fitted with my handgun, and my extra mags on my left side and also for revolver speedloaders on my right front...

Light, accurate, very cool revolver. Moon clips are fast and convenient. I use mine for hiking and forget it's even there, it's so light. If you are recoil sensitive you may wish to use 165 gr Federal for a self defense load or try different grips.
I love the .45 round for all around use, I love revolvers, and I love the uniqueness of the 325 PD. It's a good package.

I picked up a 325 Thunder ranch, great gun, have had a blast shooting it. I was up to Smith and Wesson Shooting Range and Retail store last night and noticed a 325 TRR in the showcase for sale .... also, if you are feeeling it... I saw 6-7 of the new Governors in the showcase.... 45acp along with 45LC and 410... you pick em..

If it wasn't so darn bulky I'd carry it more often. Standard .45 acp is good; +P wil get your attention. All in all though for as light as it is it is a great, albeit big, snubnose.

It may have been answered before but I probably missed it but what is the cylinder made of. I know the guns are light and I have a 625 3 inch I use for bike riding for errant wild dogs (alot are dumped out here) both four and two legged. I am considering a lighter gun.

mines a 2 1/2"...great for big bore carry gun.....very light and you hardly know it's even there and accurate wise it will surprise you....if i find a 4" i'll buy in a heart beat!!!
I have a 2.5". It is very light, a pleasure to carry in an O'Rourke pancake holster. However, I found it almost unusable until I put rubber Hogue finger-groove grips on it. They fit me perfectly, and the third (pinky) finger on the grips helps me control the gun. Obviously, you may have a different experience if your hand is not about the same as mine.
With the Hoguer grips, it is a great gun, and i highly recommend it. Of course, prudence dictates the use of "The Plug," rather than that other thing.
