I have an opportunity to pick up this Model 34-1 which is described by the current owner as a 99% gun with orignal box and paperwork for $450.
My question to all the connoisseurs of the S&W experts is..... is it worth $450?
Thanks, in advance, for your opinions/advice.

Providing it is 99%, that would be a decent price in my area.

My idea of a 99% condition firearm is one that has just been purchased brand new and carried out of the store.

YES!

Model 34's like you have fouind would be at least $550-650 in my area. Not many at the local shows like yours for sale and they seem to go really fast when they do show up

THe question is will you be happy with it at $450?

I've owned guns that I got at slap steals but hated them for some reason. I bought them cause they were a deal. I also own guns that I may have paid a bit more for than need be. But they ain't going anywhere... My point is if you want it. Buy it. I would.

I just won a 34-1 on a GB auction,
and the win price was $495 + shipping,
and it wasn't quite as nice and complete
as the one you described and pictured.

I feel that $450 is a good deal,
if it's what you want!

I've attached sellers photos of mine.

As described, in box with papers, I'd grab it! In my opinion, you'll never lose money on it!

Yup. It's worth it. I picked up a 4" 34-1 a month ago for $400 (roughly, there was some trade involved) that is in ~90% condition without box/papers and thought I did okay.

Thanks to all who responded! I am meeting the guy at 11AM to pick it up IF it as described.
