Model 36-1

Anyone know the DOB for a Model 36-1 with 3" barrel serial #809xx is? Weird thing is on the crane under the serial number is stamped 'A14 is this part of the serial number?

Did you get that 809 number off the butt of the gun? See if there is another number on the butt. Include any letters, esp. J.

I checked the butt of the gun. On the bottom of the butt is J4369xx.

On the right is a capital T inside a square and a capital Z in a circle.

On the left is A1 (maybe lightly stamped A14) and M over 609xx with a C5 next to it.

J4369xx is your serial number from 1976-77. All the other numbers and letters are assembly and inspection marks and mean little once the gun leaves the factory.
