Model 36 Hammer ?

Hi guys, I have an old model 36 chiefs special snub nose. The hammer was bobbed from the previous owner and I want to get a new hammer for it. Will the model 36-10 hammer fit? I know its the same gun but newer but don't want to buy it if it wont fit. Please help. Thanks

It depends how old your gun is... the 36-10 has an internal lock and a frame mounted firing pin.

If the firing pin on your gun is on the hammer, it won't work.

You'd need to find one with the hammer mounted firing pin.
