Model 36 no dash

Have a chance to pick up a model 36 no dash in 90-95% condition with no box. Locks up tight. Asking $600. Looking for opinions on value. Seems a little high to me.

That sounds a bit high to me. A really nice one could go for $500. But others here know a whole lot more than I do about these guns.

I paid that amount for mine at a local gun show right at 2 years ago and was happy to get it.....

One owner, nightstand gun, excellent condition. Probably overpaid some but I know the provenance and was able to thoroughly inspect (even under the grips) prior to purchase.

In this case, the premium was worth it to me.

Square butt. S/N places DOB as late-1983.

Square butt or round butt? Might be a bit on the high side even if a RB without the box. If I was in the market for one I'd be looking on the south side of $500. You also didn't specify barrel length so I'm assuming 2".

I bought a no dash 36 a couple of months ago for $375. Only a very small touch of holster wear.

36 no dash covers a lot of years. If you could offer up the serial number (and maybe a couple photos), we'd be better able to give you a closer guess.

With only what you've told us, I'll join the rest of the gang and say it's too high.

In September, 2017, I bought my Chief's Special (~90%) with original box and papers (no tools) off of GunBroker for a little less than $500 plus shipping and FFL fees. The seller was in Florida.

I'd guess late '60s before the J-serial number prefix started in 1969, and I'll stick with thinking the price is on the high side.

That's a little high around here. Saw one at the guns show yesterday similar to that with a $650 price tag. I believe the seller has displayed it for at least the last four shows. $450 would be a good start, but again, gun prices are very regional . . .

My 1974 cost me $425 three years ago.
