I found a nice nickle model 36 ( no dash) 1 7/8 barrel SB in a local pawn shop, comes with original box sort of silver looking, not the grey box (earlier) . The pistol has no turnline on cylinder and looks unfired no scratches, only problem it has a pair of JAY SCOTT pearl grips. The shop owner says it has been in a drawer for over 40 years, the box is numbered to gun. Can someone give me a value on this gun and what date did S&W quit making the 36 no dash, did not get serial no. yet. thanks Geraldo

Hi,
I have a M36 no dash that I bought for $138. It has rust and I am going to refinish it. Bore and cylinder is good. The one your describing I would say $375 to $400. In California I have seen M36 go for in the $500 range. I would not pay that much. Offer $350 and see what the dealer says.

Good luck,

:) I say $400 to $450 for a gun in new condition as you describe. I may be a little high but it's a nice gun. Don

I just picked up a 3" no dash for $300 no rust or worn blue, very clean. but I didnt get a box.

prices vary all over the country. I just paid $325 for this a couple weeks ago. If the gun is what you like and in the condition you describe I might go a little higher. I am still grieving over passing on a mint model 38 flat latch with no box for $500. Haven't seen another like it since then...

$325 for the gun
+ 25 for the box
+ 25 for good nickel finish
+ 25 if it really, really looks unfired
- 25 for wrong grips

$375 OTD :D

I bought a prisine Mod 36 1 7/8 nickel with box about a year ago for a little over $400 and thought I got a decent deal.

Depending on condition, a range of $350 - 500 seems about right.
