a local shop has a used 36, pinned barrel, 3 screw. Finish is worn somewhat, a few scratches. This will be for a carry gun, so finish isn't that important. Lock up is fine, not fired much. They want 270 Out the door. Fair price? Thanks, Ken

Hello
I am new to S&W model 36 but I would say that is a good price. I got one and it is a great gun. Mine was made in 1975. Ron

called and put aside. I thought that it was a good price. Thanks for the help.

No Brainer

Yup at that price it's a no brainer decision.
I remember when I first joined and found a Model 14 for $200 your comment got me going. The others were the similar. One said "62bowtie is out in the dark of night in NY buying guns" If its under $300 and works without anything major wrong I buy it.

Why are you still home - you should be there and back already. By now, you should be icing your shoulder where you sprained it getting your wallet out.

You haven't bought it yet?

Here's my track on the model.

Smith & Wesson 36 1-7/8 in Bbl
Revolver in .38 Spl. Bluebook of Gun Values (32nd Edition) indicates between $360 in 95% condition and $535 in 100% condition for this gun. I have 62 recorded prices for this model gun from $250 to $600 over a period of 3 Yrs 5 Mos ending May 16, 2011. The average price as of that date was $394. No refurbs, no refinishes, regular sights. All represented as 95% or better. No distinction for engineering revision, if any, no special editions, no distinctions for box, papers, tools. Current or last MSRP is $822.
