What do you guys think about the value of a 36 unfired in the 2 pc box with the papers and a receipt dated 4/68. Bought from Kings Gun Shop in Houston.

Most of these guns were bought to use. This one was not.

I'm thinkin' at least $450.
Maybe more in some regions.

If it's still new and a complete package and it'll be a safe queen for years I'd go 550-600 if I really wanted one.

Definitely complete with original receipt.
Receipt shows the gun, 1 box of 38 sp, and tax. $87.11 LOL

I agree that price for a complete package in mint shape could go as high as$600.

New/like new with all the original stuff makes it a $600 package. Anything less then that is a good deal.

I'm thinking it will bring more. When you find a 45 yr old Smith NIB you never know. Depends on who's looking for it.

I threw the Blue Book out several yrs ago on Smith values.

I've had people offer more than I was asking if another guy was interested.:)

I usually pay around $ 400-$ 425 for very nice "shooter grade" 36s .
I would expect a mint in the box vintage 1968 example to be around $ 675.

I definitly need to move (northern Indiana) as I purchased a like new 36 pistol (1977) only at this weekends gun show and had to give $500 and I assure you that is the going rate here. I would easily gave $650 for the package you are describing. In fact, how would you like to make a quick profit? LOL !
