Well, bit the bullet and ordered a new scandium frame 360. Have been looking to replace an old .38 air weight I stupidly let go years ago. Not to interested in the .357 option. Will have to talk my son into that trial.ha ha. Hope the holsters from the old airweight fit. Wasn't Realy in the market for the 360 but the price new was irresistible. Now to find a plug for the retard hole.

Wow high dollar gun I know I have the 340 PD I was on the same page I had an old 442 that was done about 1 million years ago from Karl Sokol. Never gave me a lick of trouble. I decided to buy I guess for bragging rights for 340 PD LOL. You will not have any problem with any of your old holsters or grips Round butt grips of course. GOOD LUCK WITH IT

Actually the real reason I bought it was the price .New sub 500.00 couldn't really find anything decent used around here for that price.

Aren't they available without the lock? I looked on GAG and didn't see them, but until very recently you could get them either with hi-viz sights and the lock or red ramp sight and no IL. And where did you find a 360PD for less than $500?

Given my paucity ;) of funds situation, I don't have a new one or the .357 version. I have found two of the 360J's for right around $400 and picked them up. I don't feel at all handicapped, since I would be handicapped after firing five rounds of .357 in the .357 version. Prolly not the most important feature in the world, but I really like the fact that S&W saw fit to put a steel bushing in the recoil plate for the center pin to lock into. Either caliber - I think they're just great revolvers.

I bought the 360 last year and love it. Junk the FDE grips though, aside from being hideous they interfere with single action shooting. They didn't remove enough material for proper hammer clearance.

I traded a Shield 45 for my 360 Airweight and love it. I swapped out the stock grips with a Hogue monogrip and it makes a huge difference in shooting the .357 as I no longer get trigger slap on my index finger. I've also found the 125 grain Golden Saber has very acceptable recoil (at least for me) and follow up shots are very doable and several gun reviews have put muzzle velocity between 1100-1150 fps which should make this a good defensive round showing good penetration and expansion in gel blocks (luckygunner was one)

Thanx for that info on grips. The only thing I didn't like the look of .suspect those grips are for color coordinateing with your fde furniture on your AR. Ha ha

Great choice. I have owned a 340PD for many years and have a few thousand rounds through it with no ill effects. I assume it has the Ti cylinder so be careful with your choice of cleaning materials. Ammonia based products are not what you want to use.
Mine has the lock and I have no concerns about it at all but that is me.

I picked up the 360 last year when Bud's had them on sale (I guess). For less than $500, a 14.9 ounce .357 is a pretty sweet deal, not that I'm ever likely to shoot .357s out of it!
Then, sometime back on this forum I read about the availability of Titanium cylinders from Midway. I finally broke with the money and wish I had done so sooner! Now the 360 is 12.6 ounces according to my wife's postal scale, and right at 15 ounces loaded with 125 gr. .357 Magnum loads! Since these are guns made to be carried a lot and shot as needed, shaving off 2.3 ounce was worth the easy "upgrade"!
I like it so much I now have another Titanium cylinder coming to retrofit to one of my 642s! No .357 magnums through that of course!

I picked one up a few years back. It is a fine carry piece even though the grips are a little small in my hand. Tried Crimson Trace laser grips but didn't really like them either. Especially since I could never get the laser to adjust correctly. So I just went back to the stock grips.

Just picked one up yesterday! I find myself not carrying a sidearm when it would require changing clothes to something I can carry my current handgun with. I want to have something on me at ALL times. This little feather of a pocket cannon should fill that gap quite nicely.
