model 37 2" barrel ?

what can anyone tell me about this gun ? It is a model 37, 38 special with a 2" barrel. It is in absolute mint condition, must have been a safe queen from the looks of it.
It is an aluminum frame with steel cylinder and barrel, barrel is not pinned. Does anyone know the year of manufacture ?
serial # AFF942*, I left out the last digit. Is this a low serial number ?
Is this a good gun or should I worry about the aluminum frame or the barrel not being pinned ?
What are the pro's and con's of this model ?
What would be a fair price with no box or paper work ?

It was shipped in 1984, and the same basic model has been made since the mid-1950s. It is a good lightweight carry gun but will recoil more than a steel frame model 36. It will outlast you if you use standard pressure .38 loads and maintain it properly. It sounds to be a $350-400 gun. Hope this is helpful.
