I brought the orphaned Bodyguard Airweight home today. Made in 1977 Bubba had painted it black. And it is ugly but I'm having the paint stripped to see whats under it. I think its been bead blasted. I have gun smith thats going to take it apart & see whats what. He said worst case was to Ceracote it. Any suggestions on what to do to it?

Bought one several yr's ago made in 1960's . Need re-bluing but S&W said it was too old for them to do. I wound up having it re-finished in Duracoat. Looks ok,but not as nice as the old S&W "mirror blue" of days gone by.
