Will a slide from a model 59 work an a model 39 ?

I was shooting my 39 one day and realized it didn't have the optional adjustable sight on it. I had put the 59 slide assembly on the 39. Worked fine.

Funny story 2 years ago tried to sell a blue 39-2 and a nickel 59 on GB both were in %90 condition no bites fo $300 on either one so i took the nickel slide and put it on the 39 was up front on the description of what i had done and wouldnt you know it it brought $475 and put the nickel 59 week later andit brought $500 guess it was eye catching enough to pick interest!!
