Congrats on the new M41. AFAIK they have already stopped making them and are just assembling the parts they have left until they are gone. I suppose if down the road there is a demand for then again, they could do a run, but I'd be very hesitant to buy one. They had enough trouble making them right when they were in production. When they are out for a while, I doubt they would be worth getting involved in, especially when there are still great vintage models available.
About 8 years ago I purchased a 5" Field / Sport barrel for my model 41 that originally came with a 5.5" bull barrel when I bought it in 1979. IMHO, the 5" F & S barrel blows the bull barrel away as it is almost a half pound lighter. Personally, I like light even though many target shooters like the extra weight. I shoot the F / S barrel better as well. The bull barrel has not been back on the gun in 8 years - doubt it ever will. I keep it just for having the original - but no other reason.
I do not own any red dot or laser sights and was the only guy on our Bullseye Shooting Team that shot with open sights. I never cared for optics and shoot better with iron sights anyway. As long as I shot the way I did with my M41 and Colt Gold Cup National Match the team captain was happy left me alone.
